How can we help?
I am glad you asked
As a self taught Graphic Designer with a successful business, I have helped a lot of companies with their branding and corporate identity. I have assisted with everything from the business name right through to social media and website development. I found a lot of people who are just starting out needed guidance and clear direction because they were getting conflicting information from everywhere. They either gave up or lost valuable time, effort and money going around in circles. I can’t tell you how much success comes from having a clear direction.
The entire reason I added this information to my website is to give you clear direction, step by step instructions on how to start a business in Australia. But not only that, I want to help you build your business, grow and succeed.
Where do I start?
How to start a business in Australia in 2020
Let’s touch on the three main areas that will kick start your business and make it work.
Think It!
Brand It!
Share It!
The first step
Think It!
So you have a great idea or a great product, how do develop it into a business? The simple answer is research. Find your market, your niche. Who is your audience? Who is your buyer? You also need to consider your competition and why you stand out.
Start a business plan, this will help you with refining your research and give a clear statement of your company, its philosophy, target market and advertising strategies.
The business plan is a breathing document, meaning it will grow with you and your business. This is fundamental for any business and a constant reference point.
This document can also be used to approach lenders to finance your new venture. Once you have refined your business, you are ready to move on to registering the business, set up your financials, taxes, legal requirements and Insurances.
The next step
Brand It!
This is my passion. I hope it becomes yours! Branding is essential for every business. It says who you are, what your business is about and what you have to offer.
It doesn’t have to be complex, but it does have to be consistently applied.
Look at some of the biggest brands in Australia like Woolworths, Coles, Big W, Myer, BWS and Cadbury. You know them, their branding is simple, basically just text. But they consistently use it in all marketing, on all products and on all their stationary and communication.
I can show you how to design a logo on your own, without paying a fortune for a professional designer or having any design knowledge; I will go more in depth later.
Once you have your logo, you can look at getting some professional printing done for your business cards and stationary.
We provide you with templates to design your own and also offer compatible print prices (within Australia) delivered to your door, you can place your order online through our print portal.
Once you have your brand defined, add it everywhere. Every time you communicate your brand, your logo should be attached to the communication.
It’s the face of your business!
And Finally
Share It!
Now that you have your Business registered, financials and taxes sorted and you have your business branded with a great logo – It’s time to start marketing!
The first thing you will want to do is create a web site. For that you will need to register a domain, get hosting (in Australia) and lastly build a website.
